Description. Integument covered with appressed, microgranulate scales; with interspersed subclavate suberect scales. Head with angulate transverse sulcus separating rostral base. Eyes convex, protruding; separated from apex of prothorax by ca. length of eye. Profile ( Fig. 40e View FIGURE 40 ) anteriorly with constriction. Rostrum. Dorsum medially with more or less distinct costa; apical declivity distinct, with sunk-in scales; dorsal profile subangulate. Antenna. Scape slender; in cross-section subrotund; with appressed scales and curved, erect bristles. Funicle with second article 1.5–1.7 X as long as article 1. Pronotum ca. as long as wide, punctate. Metanepisternum narrow, subglabrous. Elytra broadly subovate, with 12 striae. Legs. Protibia ventrally simple, not denticulate. Venter. Procoxae approximate, separated by 0.15 X procoxal diameter; distance to apex 0.5 X distance to base of prothorax. Mesoventral process subquadrate, 0.86–1.00 X as long as wide. Abdomen. Female ventrites 3–5 exposed, laterally shorter than ventrites 1–2. Genitalia. Penis with apodeme firmly attached to body. Transfer apparatus flagelliform or elongate spiniform. Notes. This genus is related to Parasyntrophus gen. n., but has 12 elytral striae, convex eyes, and a subquadrate mesoventral process. Currently, two species from Sumbawa are included.
