Illustrated material. Adult shell, Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1507. Illustrated material from the Santo Antônio section (2.65 m).
Dimension. Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1507 ( Fig. 3D–F View FIGURE 3 ); L= (LV) 0.917/ ( RV) 1.197 mm, H= 0.571 mm, and W= 0.729 mm.
Comparison. Material compared to Pattersoncypris angulata (Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1963), described and deposited by Tomé et al. (2014) in the Ivan de Medeiros Tinoco Microfossils Collection from Paleontology Laboratory of the Federal University of Pernambuco. The comparison was satisfactory, due to the posterodorsal angle being well marked, however, the species found in the collection is smooth with no surface ornamentation .
Occurrence and associated fauna. It was recorded in the Santo Antonio section, at the following depths (from base to top): 1.8; 2.1; 2.25; 3.1; 3.4; 3.85; 5.25 and 5.35 m. P. salitrensis is associated with all species of ostracods, except Dicrorygma ( Orthorygma ?) dimorpha.
Observations. Among the forms belonging to the genus Pattersoncypris found in the interval corresponding to the Aptian-Albian, in the Romualdo Formation, Pattersoncypris angulata presents a well-marked angle at the posterodorsal end, which helps its identification. This species can be smooth or with a tessellated ornamentation on the surface.
Stratigraphic distribution. Brazil, Araripe Basin, Santana Formation, Romualdo Member (Silva Telles Jr. & Viana, 1990; Poropat & Colin, 2012b), range dated as Aptian ( Regali 1990; Coimbra et al. 2002). Potiguar Basin, Alagamar Formation, Aptian ( Do Carmo et al. 2008). Cedro Basin, Crato Formation, range dated as Aptian (Tomé 2007; Tomé & Lima Filho 2010). Jatobá Basin, Serra Negra, in strata correlated to the Crato Formation, upper Aptian ( Tomé et al. 2014). In the present study, found in the Araripe Basin, Romualdo Formation, upper Aptian.
