Type species: Ornebius alii Bhowmik, 1970: 78–79 ( India: Phulobaha ) .

Diagnosis. Comparing with other species groups of the genus Ornebius , the species group is distinguished by the presence of external sclerite of lateral valve; medial lobe of epiphallus with lateral valves compressed, elongate tube; external sclerites angularly bent in middle and internal sclerites curved at the base ( Fig. 15 ).

Except of the type species, the species group includes Ornebius tuberculatus , Ornebius peniculatus , Ornebius samudra , Ornebius aureus , Ornebius cibodas , Ornebius insculptus , Ornebius dowwiangkanae and Ornebius carnificare sp. n.
