Pseudoscymnus truncatulus Yu et al., 1997: 435 (type locality: Heyuan, Lijiang, Yunnan, China).— Yu et al. 2000: 186 View Cited Treatment ; Pang et al. 2004: 89; Kovář 2007: 582.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. maculatus sp. nov. in structures of the male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the later by the elytra black with yellowish brown apices and humeral angles (Figs 35a–c). In S. maculatus , elytra are yellow with black spots (Figs 33a–c).
Description. TL: 2.05 mm, TW: 1.45 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 35a–c). Head yellowish brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum and scutellar shield yellowish brown. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices and humeral angles. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 35d).
Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis with membranous appendage (Figs 35e–f). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 3 in ventral view, then gradually narrowing to apex ( Figs 34g –h View FIGURE 34 ).
Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus.
Material examined. Holotype: China: Yunnan: ♂, Heyuan, Lijiang City , 2820-2840 m, 1.XI.1995, Liu SJ leg ( BAAF).
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
