Pseudoscymnus fuscus Yang, 1971: 87 (type locality: Anma Mountains, Taichung, Taiwan, China).— Yu 1995 a: 129; Pang et al. 2004: 87; Kovář 2007: 582.

Sasajiscymnus fuscus: Yu 2011: 115 — Iqbal et al. 2020: 384.

Diagnosis. This species can be easily recognized by its uniformly brown elytra ( Fig. 22a View FIGURE 22 ).

Description. TL: 2.05–2.51 mm, TW: 1.50–1.89 mm, TH: 0.99–1.12 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 22a–d View FIGURE 22 ). Head yellow with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellow. Scutellar shield and elytra entirely brown. Ventral surfaces yellow to black. Legs yellow to yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, not recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 22e View FIGURE 22 ).

Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis slightly expanded with membranous appendage ( Figs 22f–g View FIGURE 22 ). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in ventral view, then gradually narrowing to apex ( Fig. 22h View FIGURE 22 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus.

Material examined. Holotype: China: Taiwan: ♂, Anma Mountains , Taichung City, 2200 m, 21.VII.1971, Yang CT leg ( NCHU) . Paratypes: China: Taiwan: 5♂ 4♀, Same data as holotype ( NCHU) . Other material ( SCAU). China: Taiwan: 3♀, Qingjing, Jenai Town , Nantou County, 720–2329 m, 20.X.2012, Wang XM leg ; 2♀, Aowanda, Jenai Town , Nantou County, 1280 m, 21.X.2012, Wang XM leg ; 1♂, Ali Mountains , Chiayi County, 1800 m, 22.X.2012, Wang XM leg ; 1♂ 2♀, Ali Mountains , Chiayi County, 2200–2500 m, 23.X.2012, Wang XM leg ; 2♂ 1♀, Dabang Village, Alishan Mountains , Chiayi County, 960–1600 m, 24.X.2012, Wang XM leg ; 1♀, Maolin District , Kaohsiung City, 365–515 m, 26.X.2012, Wang XM leg.
