Sasajiscymnus heijia ( Yu & Montgomery, 2000)
( Figs 26 View FIGURE 26 , 68)
Chinese name: DZũḧ瓢•
Pseudoscymnus heijia Yu et al., 2000: 183 (type locality: Wenbi Mountains, Lijiang, Yunnan, China).— Pang et al. 2004: 87; Kovář 2007: 582.
Sasajiscymnus heijia: Iqbal et al. 2020: 384 .
Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. seboshii ( Ohta, 1929) , but can be distinguished from the later by more slender penis guide, and the parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide ( Figs 26j–k View FIGURE 26 ). In S. seboshii , penis guide is more robust and parameres are about 2/5 as long as penis guide ( Figs 34j–k View FIGURE 34 ).
Description. TL: 1.81–2.26 mm, TW: 1.33–1.77 mm, TH: 0.75–1.04 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 26a–f View FIGURE 26 ). Head yellow to black, with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown. Scutellar shield yellow to black. Elytral patterns varying from mostly black to predominantly yellow with black spots. Ventral surfaces yellow to black. Legs yellow to black. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, slightly recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 26g View FIGURE 26 ).
Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis constricted with membranous appendage ( Figs 2h–i View FIGURE 2 ). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then tapering towards pointed apex; parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, then gradually narrowing to blunt apex ( Figs 26j–k View FIGURE 26 ).
