Pseudoscymnus shixingiensis Pang, 1993: 493 (type locality: Shixing, Guangdong, China).— Yu et al. 1993: 471; Pang et al. 2004: 88; Kovář 2007: 582.
Sasajiscymnus shixingiensis: Iqbal et al. 2020: 387 .
Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. bivalvis (Yu, 1997) , but can be distinguished from the later by the penis guide widest at base in ventral view, and the penis with several small protuberances at middle (Fig. 14e). In S. bivalvis , penis guide is approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in ventral view, penis without protuberances ( Fig. 39e View FIGURE 39 ).
Description. TL: 2.05–2.51 mm, TW: 1.50–1.89 mm, TH: 0.99–1.12 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 14a–c). Head yellowish brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum and scutellar shield yellowish brown. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices and humeral angles. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 14d).
Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, central part of penis with several small protuberances, apex of penis slightly expanded with membranous appendage (Figs 14e–f). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 1/2 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, apex with a small protuberance (Figs 14g –h).
Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus.
