( Figs 17 View FIGURE 17 , 68)
Chinese name: ẸṄḧ瓢•
Pseudoscymnus ocelliferus Canepari, 1997: 7 (type locality: Mai Pokhari, Ilam, Nepal).— Poorani 2002: 351; Kovář 2007: 582.
Sasajiscymnus ocelliferus: Iqbal et al. 2020: 386 .
Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. wuliangshan sp. nov. in structures of the penis, but can be distinguished from the later by the pronotum black with lateral and anterior margin yellow, and parameres about 3/5 as long as penis guide ( Figs 17a–c, 17g View FIGURE 17 ). In S. wuliangshan , pronotum is entirely black and parameres are about 1/3 as long as penis guide (Figs 16a–c, 16g).
Description. TL: 1.62–2.32 mm, TW: 1.17–1.69 mm, TH: 0.63–0.87 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 17a–c View FIGURE 17 ). Head yellowish brown to black, with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum black with lateral and anterior margin yellow. Scutellar shield brown. Elytra black with yellow apices, nd each elytron with an eye-spotted marking on medially extending to the suture. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellow. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, slightly recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 17d View FIGURE 17 ).
Male genitalia: Penis stout with a large protuberance on inner side near distal 1/3, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis distinctly expanded with membranous appendage ( Figs 17e–f View FIGURE 17 ). Penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 3 in lateral view, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 3/5 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide stout in ventral view, widest at basal 1/3, with a small protuberance at apex ( Figs 17g –h View FIGURE 17 ).
Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus.
