Diagnosis. This is a very distinctive species of Sasajiscymnus characterized by the dark brown head, stout penis without outer arm, and the penis guide with apical 1/3 expanded ( Figs 56a–c, 56g View FIGURE 56 ).

Description. TL: 2.20–2.33 mm, TW: 1.68–1.79 mm, TH: 0.97–1.05 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 56a–c View FIGURE 56 ). Head dark brown with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown with a black spot at base. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with brown apices. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown to black. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 56d View FIGURE 56 ).

Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed ( Fig. 56e View FIGURE 56 ). Penis guide expanded apically in lateral view; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide distinctly swollen near apex in ventral view, blunt apically ( Figs 56f–g View FIGURE 56 ).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, without clear ramus or nodulus (Figs 3l, 3p).

Type material. Holotype: China: Taiwan: ♂, Beiheng Highway , Yilan County, 300–1500 m, 1.XI.2012, Wang XM leg ( SCAU) . Paratype: China, Taiwan: 1♀, Same data as holotype ( SCAU).

Distribution. China (Taiwan).

Etymology. The specific epithet tumidus derives from the Latin word “tumidus” and refers to the expanded penis guide.
