Chinese name: Ǿ特ḧ瓢•
Diagnosis. This is a very distinctive species of Sasajiscymnus characterized by the yellowish brown head bearing a large black spot, long penis with swollen outer arm and fin-shaped apex, and parameres nearly as long as penis guide ( Figs 45c–h View FIGURE 45 ).
Description. TL: 1.76–2.44 mm, TW: 1.34–1.86 mm, TH: 0.79–1.08 mm.
Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 45a–c View FIGURE 45 ). Head yellowish brown with a large black spot, interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown with a black spot at base. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, not recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 45d View FIGURE 45 ).
Male genitalia: Penis long, penis capsule with swollen outer arm and short inner one, apex of penis fin-shaped ( Figs 45e–f View FIGURE 45 ). Penis guide long in lateral view, gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres long and slender, nearly as long as penis guide, covered with long setae at apex and inner sides; penis guide stout in ventral view, widest at basal 3/4, distinctly narrowed at base, with widest part about 1.42× of basal width ( Figs 45g –h View FIGURE 45 ).
Female genitalia: Coxites board; styli strongly reduced and hardly visible; spermatheca worm-like, without clear ramus or nodulus ( Figs 3a, 3e View FIGURE 3 ).

Distribution. China (Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Shaanxi).
Etymology. The specific epithet atypicus derives from the Latin word “atypicus” and refers to the atypical head colouration and structures of the male genitalia.
