Genus Reussia NEVIANI, 1895 View in CoL

Colony erect, multilaminar or bilaminar. Autozooecia smooth, with a flat frontal wall and large marginal areolar pores. Aperture oval without sinus, primary orifice with a broad sinus. An oral, median avicularium may be present. Ovicell partly immersed into the distal part of the autozooecium with a slightly perforate frontal wall.

145 R e m a r k s: Zágoršek (2003) stated that Reussia has ovicells with a nonporous frontal wall. The preservation of the type material and other available specimens does not allow observation of any pores on the frontal wall of the ovicell. Dennis Gordon however figured other material from the type locality ( Bock, 2010), which clearly show perforation of the ovicell.
