Family Celleporidae JOHNSTON, 1838 View in CoL Genus Buffonellaria CANU et BASSLER, 1927

Colony flattened, encrusting, or erect, unilaminar or bilaminar. Autozooecia with marginal areolar pores, a sinus and lateral avicularia. No oral spines developed except for the ancestrula and during early ontogeny of the autozooecia. Ovicell with a non-calcified central part of the ectoecium and a slightly ribbed endoecium. Secondary calcification very often developed.
