scientific name

Cyclocoelum crenulatum
status

C. crenulatum ( Rudolphi, 1809)

Type host. Common redstart, Phoenicurus phoenicurus (Linnaeus) (Syn. Motacilla phoenicurus Linnaeus ) ( Passeriformes : Muscucapidae). Host listed as Sylvia phenicurus Latham (unknown species; likely a synonym of P. phoenicurus )— Dujardin (1845), but it was given as Motacilla phoenicurus by Yamaguti (1971).

Type locality. Europe; specific type locality unknown.

Remarks. This species was orignally listed as Monostoma crenulatum Rudolphi, 1809 . It was incompletely described by both Rudolphi (1809) and Dujardin (1845). There is not enough information available beyond body size to effectively delineate this species, and in our opinion, this species should be considered a species inquirenda; it was not included in the key to species provided below.
