comb. nov.

S. odeningi ( Dubois, 1965) n. comb.

Type host. Cotton pigmy goose, Nettapus coromandelianus Gmelin ( Anseriformes : Anatidae ).

Type locality. India; specific type locality unknown.

Previously proposed synonym. Cyclocoelum capellum Jaiswal, 1957 nec Khan, 1935 — Dubois (1965).

Remarks. This species was originally described as Cyclocoelum (Cyclocoelum) odeningi Dubois, 1965 from specimens from the Odening Collection. The specimens illustrated in the three figures of Dubois (1965) appear to be contracted and the specimens in Figs. 2 and 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 are bent towards the side of the ovary. The position of the ovary appears to be reflected best in Figs. 1 and 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 of Dubois (1965) where it appears to be intertesticular. The position of the ovary in S. odeningi n. comb. appears to be intertesticular forming a triangle with the testes (Cyclocoelinae), the genital pore is near the posterior end of the pharynx (postpharyngeal) and the vitelline fields are not confluent posteriorly, placing it in Selfcoelum . No oral or ventral sucker described—Dubois (1965).
