Distribution: Oaxaca and Veracruz ( Mexico) to Guianas, SE Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, N Argentina and Peru; Trinidad; Margarita Isl (Venezeula).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
