Until 2000, Hipposideros species were reported as restricted to the Nicobar Islands. Aul et al. (2014) reported the presence of Hipposideros species from the Andaman Islands for the first time, finding Hipposideros larvatus (Horsfield, 1823) on Little Andaman Island.
