2. Chryasus bicuspis Prena , new species

Diagnosis. Among the large humped species, this is the only one with dark reddish brown elytra. The species is larger and more elongate than the entirely black C. wappesi .
Description. Total length 5.3, width 2.7 mm (n=1); integument black, antenna, tibia, tarsus and elytron dark reddish brown; body elongate rhomboidal, sides of pronotum and elytra for most parts gradually converging, pronotum moderately vaulted, distinctly vermiculate on disc and shallowly punctate on flank, elytron with slight basal tumidity, interstriae ridged, male metaventral protuberance with anterior edge strongly produced and deeply cleft by discrimen, male ventrites 1, 2 and 5 with erect squamulae, 5 with median depression; all femora with secondary denticles but barely perceptible on fore leg; genitalia not examined.
Material examined. Holotype male, labeled “ Ecuador, Sucumbios, Shushufindi, 9-VIII-98, W. Opitz ” ( CMNC).
Etymology. The name is a Latin noun referring to the cleft metaventral protuberance.
