Type material. Holotype male, CHINA: Guizhou Province, Luodian County, 10.viii.1995, light trap, W.J. Bu ( BDN No. 09147).
Etymology. The name refers to the lack of megaseta.
Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other members of the genus by the absence of megaseta.
Male (n = 1). Total length 4.0 mm. Wing length 1.98 mm. Total length / wing length 2.03. Wing length / length of profemur 2.08.
Coloration. Head including antenna brown. Thorax almost uniformly dark brown. Abdomen entirely brown. Femur and tibia of all legs dark brown; fore ta 1, and mid- and hind ta 1–2 pale brown, other tarsi dark brown. Wing without marks.
Head. AR 2.29. Temporal setae 20 including 18 verticals and 2 postorbitals. Clypeus with 24 setae. Tentorium 240 µm long, 45 µm wide. Palpomere lengths (in µm): 60, 80, 165, 240, 280.
Wing ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1–2 ). VR 1.31. Costal extension 60 µm long. Brachiolum with 3 long setae. Squama with 24 setae.
Thorax. Antepronotals 10, dorsocentrals 12, acrostichals 22, prealars 24, preepisternals 22, postnotals 2. Scutellum with 7 setae.
Legs. Spur on foretibia 70 µm long without lateral teeth; spurs on midtibia 63 and 70 µm long with 5 and 4 lateral teeth; spurs on hind tibia 55 and 93 µm long with 5 lateral teeth; apex of ta 1– ta 3 of mid- and hind legs with 2 pseudospurs; weak comb on foretibia with 18 setae; comb on hind tibia double with 13 plus 15 setae. Lengths and proportions of legs as in Table 1.
Hypopygium ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ). Tergite IX concave, with 13 setae laterally on each side. Anal point broad. Gonocoxite 213 µm long, cylindrical, outer margin convex with 8 setae. Gonostylus 98 µm long, robust, swollen basally, without megaseta. HR 2.18, HV 4.1.
Female, pupa and larva: Unknown.
Distribution. The species was collected in a subtropical mountain area in Guizhou province in Oriental China.
