Distribution. Widely distributed from the tropical West Pacific to the central Indian Ocean ( Philippines, Hainan in China, Indochina, Borneo, Malay Peninsula, Sulawesi, Thailand, India).

Remarks. In China, this species is only found in southern Hainan in the northern South China Sea ( Table 1 ) and this is probably the northern limit of its range (cf. Shih et al. 2009: fig. 1).
