This tribe is diverse and numerous in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Epilachnini are phytophagous ladybugs. Taxonomy of this tribe is complex and controversial. There is still debate between authors on the validity of Henosepilachna Li, 1961 , and its possible synonymy with Epilachna Chevrolat in Dejean, 1836. But recent molecular phylogenetic analysis of Epilachnini from both genera confirmed that they belong to distinct groups ( Kobayashi et al. 2009; Szawaryn et al. 2015). Our present note does not intend to resolve this nomenclatural question. So we follow the nomenclatural decisions of Bielawski (1972) regarding New Caledonian Epilachnini .
