Anastoechus chinensis Paramonov, 1930: 445 View in CoL (95). Type locality: China (Beijing).

Diagnosis. Abdominal dorsum with long dense yellowish hairs laterally and dorsally, long dense yellowish erect hairs and with a row of yellowish bristles with dark brown tip posteriorly, tergites 7–8 with long white hairs. Epandrium trapezoidal, distinctly higher than long; epiphallus subtriangular, acute at tip in dorsal view. Redescription. Male. Body length 10–14 mm, wing length 9–13 mm.

Head ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) black with pale dust. Hairs on head mostly white; frons narrowing directed distally, with long sparse black erect hairs, face with long dense white erect hairs and long sparse black erect hairs; occiput with long dense white hairs and long sparse black erect hairs. Antenna black except yellow at joint; scape elongate with long dense white hairs; first flagellomere elongate, bare, with a stylus at tip. Proboscis black, bare, nearly four times longer than head.

Thorax black with brown dust. Hairs on thorax yellowish and white; postpronotal lobe with long dense yellowish hairs, mesonotum with long dense yellowish hairs; thorax with dense yellowish hairs on back, anepisternum and katepisternum with long dense white hairs. Scutellum black with long dense yellowish erect hairs, with six yellow bristles each side. Legs brown except tip of tarsi black. Hairs on legs mostly yellow, bristles yellow. Femora with dense white scales; tibiae and tarsi with short yellow hairs and sparse white scales. Mid femur with five av apically; hind femur with seven av. Mid tibia with eight ad, 13 pd, eight av, nine pv; hind tibia with nine ad, eight pd, eight av and seven pv. Wing ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ) uniformly faint brown. Vein rm close to tip of cell dm, cell r5 closed. Base of vein C with brush-like long black bristle and white hairs. Halteres brown.

Abdomen black with brown dust. Hairs on abdomen yellowish and white; dorsum with long dense yellowish erect hairs and posterior with a row of yellowish bristles with dark brown tips, tergites 7–8 with long white hairs. Sternites with long dense white erect and recumbent hairs.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 45–50 View FIGURES 45 – 50 ). Epandrium trapezoidal, distinctly higher than long; cercus well exposed in lateral view; epandrium slightly wider than long, slightly narrowing apically in dorsal view; gonocoxite with black bristle-like hairs apically, distinctly narrowing apically in ventral view; gonostylus oval, its tip acute in lateral view; epiphallus subtriangular, acute at tip in dorsal view, epiphallus with a rather long and narrow tip in lateral view.

Female. Body length 11–14 mm, wing length 10–13 mm. Similar to male, but distance between eyes much longer than that in male; abdomen sharply narrowing from middle to tip.
