Anastoechus neimongolanus Du & Yang, 1990: 284 View in CoL . Type locality: China (Nei Monggol).
Diagnosis. Mesonotum with long sparse white hairs; thorax almost bare on back. Hairs on abdomen mostly white, tergites 3–7 with a row of brown bristles posteriorly. Epandrium curved mid-posteriorly in dorsal view; epiphallus subtriangular, acute at tip in dorsal view.
Redescription. Male. Body length 7 mm, wing length 8 mm.
Head ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) black with pale dust. Hairs on head black and white; frons narrowing directed distally, with long dense black erect hairs, face with long dense white erect hairs and long sparse black erect hairs; occiput with long sparse black and white erect hairs. Antenna black except first flagellomere brown; scape elongate with long dense white and black hairs; first flagellomere elongate, bare, with a stylus at tip. Proboscis black, bare, nearly four times longer than head.
Thorax black. Hairs on thorax mostly white; postpronotal lobe with long dense white hairs, mesonotum with long sparse white hairs; thorax almost bare on back, anepisternum and katepisternum with long dense white hairs. Scutellum black with pale dust, with long sparse white hairs. Legs yellow except tibiae yellow. Hairs on legs mostly yellow, bristles yellow. Femora with dense white scales; tibiae and tarsi with short yellow hairs and sparse white scales. Mid femur with three av apically; hind femur with six av. Mid tibia with six ad, six pd, eight av, eight pv; hind tibia with eight ad, seven pd, six av and eight pv. Wing ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ) uniformly pale brown except base brown. Vein r-m close to tip of cell dm, cell r5 closed. Base of vein C with brush-like long black bristles and white scales. Halteres yellowish brown.
Abdomen black. Hairs on abdomen mostly white; dorsum with long dense white erect hairs laterally, dorsum with long sparse white hairs on back, tergites 3–7 with a row of brown bristles posteriorly. Sternites with long dense white erect and recumbent hairs.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 73–78 View FIGURES 73 – 78 ). Epandrium trapezoidal, distinctly higher than long; cercus well exposed in lateral view; epandrium nearly as wide as long, curved mid-posteriorly in dorsal view; gonocoxite distinctly narrowing apically in ventral view; gonostylus oval, its tip acute in lateral view; epiphallus subtriangular, acute at tip in dorsal view, epiphallus with narrow and rather short tip in lateral view.
Female. Body length 6 mm, wing length 6 mm. Similar to male, but halteres brown; abdomen tergites with long dense white hairs laterally, and long sparse white hairs on back.
