Three paralectotypes are deposited in NMPC (ex coll. Nickerl):

PARALECTOTYPE (unsexed specimen): ‘Philippi / typ. [hw] // Syn- / typus [p, red label, black margin] // Transcriptio [p] / Arthrobrachus / 4 punctatus [p, black margin] // Phil. typ. Chili [hw] // Arthrobrachus / quadripunctatus / PHIL. [hw] / K. Majer det. [p] 1981 [hw]’.

Current status. Junior subjective synonym of Arthrobrachus maestus (Blanchard, 1843) , see ESTRADA & SOLERVICENS (1999).

Remark. PHILIPPI & PHILIPPI (1864) described this species from an unknown number of specimens. ESTRADA & SOLERVICENS (1999) designated a lectotype from the specimen deposited in Museo Nacional de Historia Natural de Santiago, Santiago, Chile. Because there is no doubt about the authenticity of the specimens housed in NMPC, we have labelled them as additional paralectotypes.
