(holotype MNHN 2210, Fig. 140). New Caledonia proper. BATHUS 2: stn DW 721, Ile des Pins, North of New Caledonia. BATHUS 4: stn CP 911, Grand 22°54’S, 167°17’E, 525-547 m, 2 dd (paratypes MNHN 2211).

DISTRIBUTION. — Known only from a restricted area from the Coral Sea to southern New Caledonia, empty shells in 547-620 m.
REMARKS. — No living specimens have been collected. Mipus coriolisi differs from M. matsumotoi Kosuge, 1985 in its lower spire and the spindle-like shell shape, and from M. sugitanii Kosuge, 1985 and M. tortuosus (Azuma, 1961) in its rounded rather than keeled periphery and its lower spire.
