Type genus Polyaspis Berlese, 1881: 71 , by inference from the family name.

Notes. The family name has been spelled as Polyaspidae by some authors, but that is grammatically incorrect ( Steyskal, 1970). The correct name Polyaspididae is in widespread use and should be accepted.
