Etymology. From the name of the city.

Type material. HOLOTYPE, ” (IRSNB): Papua New Guinea: Madang, Baiteta, 5 ‡ 10’S, 145 ‡ 45’E, 31 March 1993 (Canopy mission, FOG T3 [fogging of Pometia pinnata (Sapindaceae) , tree No. 3]; O. Missa). PARATYPES, ”” (IRSNB): Papua New Guinea: ”, Madang, Baiteta, 5 ‡ 10’S, 145 ‡ 45’E, 13 May 1993 (Canopy mission, FOG XB [fogging of Chisocheton sp. ( Meliaceae )]; O. Missa); ”, idem but: 4 May 1994, FOG XO [fogging of Podocarpus neliafolius (Podocarpus) ].

Holotype, ”, length of body 5.2 mm, of fore wing 4.32 mm.

Head. Remaining antennal segments 31, length of third segment 1.4 times fourth, length of third and fourth segments 3.5 and 2.5 times their maximal width, respectively, flagellomeres with two ranks of placodes; eyes glabrous; length of eye in dorsal view 2.3 times temple; temple directly narrowed posteriorly, slightly punctate, shiny; OOL: diameter of ocellus: POL~4.0:2.0:3.0; frons and vertex smooth medially, shiny, sparsely punctate ( figure 70 View FIGS ); face flattened in lateral view, punctate, smooth between punctures; clypeus flattened and punctate ( figure 71 View FIGS ); length of malar space twice basal width of mandible; malar suture absent; occipital flange reduced.

Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.3 times its maximal height; side of pronotum smooth posteriorly, ventrally coriaceous and medially crenulate; mesopleuron, smooth and shiny; precoxal sulcus distinctly punctate and complete ( figure 68 View FIGS ); metapleuron sparsely punctate; mesoscutum sparsely punctate, weakly depressed posteriorly; scutellar sulcus narrow with small carinae; scutellum convex and punctate; propodeum convex, coriaceous ( figure 37 View FIGS ); metapleural flange short and rounded ( figure 132 View FIGS ).

Wings. Fore wing: r: SR1z3-SR~6:33; 2-SR: r-m~7:4 (but r-m quasi absent); second submarginal cell petiolate; subbasal cell glabrous anteriorly; vein 3-CU1 four times longer than vein CU1b. Hind wing: 2-M coloured; membrane largely glabrous basally.

Legs. Hind coxa coriaceous; lengths of hind femur, tibia and basitarsus 4.0, 9.0 and 10.0 times their widths, respectively; hind femur coriaceous, its ventral border smooth; tibial spurs 0.48 and 0.4 times basitarsus; outer face of mid and hind tibia with several bristles between setae; hind tibia with four apical teeth.

Metasoma. First tergite 2.4 times longer than apically wide, coriaceous ( figure 37 View FIGS ), weakly concave medially in lateral view ( figure 69 View FIGS ); T1 sub-rectangular in dorsal view; spiracles weakly protruding; T2–T4 coriaceous; T2 1.18 times longer than T3; second suture smooth, straight; ovipositor sheath 0.7 times fore wing length.

Colour. Brownish yellow. Tegula, humeral plate, hind trochantellus yellowish brown; last four mid and hind tarsus brownish; antenna infuscate apically; ovipositor sheath dark brownish.

Remarks. Surface of propodeum is smooth to more or less coriaceous in paratypes.
