( figures 2 View FIGS , 15 View FIGS , 28 View FIGS , 46 View FIGS )

Etymology. In honour of the late Christian Wonville, for his kindness.

Type material. HOLOTYPE, „ ( MRAC): Ivory Coast: Bingerville , 1–15 November 1963 (J. Decelle).

Holotype, „, length of body 4.4 mm, of fore wing 3.9 mm.

Head. Remaining antennal segments 21, length of third segment 1.17 times fourth, length of third and fourth segments 3.5 and 3.0 times their maximal width; maxillary palp 1.9 times height of head; eye setose (very short setae); length of eye in dorsal view 2.3 times temple; temple directly narrowed posteriorly, smooth and slightly punctate dorsally, coriaceous ventrally; OOL: diameter of ocellus: POL~3.0:2.0:1.0; frons smooth medially, finely and sparsely punctate; vertex convex, slightly punctate, flattened near stemmaticum; face flattened in lateral view, punctate, smooth between punctures; clypeus flattened in lateral view and punctate ( figure 2 View FIGS ); length of malar space 1.3 times basal width of mandible; malar suture absent; occipital flange straight ventrally.

Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.4 times its maximal height; side of pronotum punctate-crenulate medially and remainder coriaceous; mesopleuron punctate near tegula, coriaceous elsewhere; precoxal sulcus weakly crenulate medially, ending as longitudinal line anteriorly ( figure 28 View FIGS ); metapleuron, mesoscutum, scutellum coriaceous with sparse punctures; metapleural flange acute (triangular); scutellar sulcus with several carina posteriorly; propodeum medially convex, coriaceous, without mid-longitudinal carina, with some weak medio-transverse rugae; metapleural flange rounded ( figure 46 View FIGS ).

Wings. Fore wing: r: SR1z3-SR~5:31; 2-SR~9; r-m absent; second submarginal cell open ( figure 15 View FIGS ); subbasal cell setose anteriorly; vein 3-CU1 four times longer than vein CU1b. Hind wing: 2-M coloured, membrane largely glabrous basally.

Legs. Hind coxa coriaceous with some weak reticulate rugae dorsally ( figure 46 View FIGS ); lengths of hind femur, tibia and basitarsus 3.7, 6.8 and 12.0 times their widths, respectively; hind femur coriaceous, its ventral border smooth in lateral view; tibial spurs 0.6 and 0.4 times basitarsus; hind tibia with five apical teeth.

Metasoma. First tergite twice its apical width, coriaceous, medially concave in lateral view ( figure 46 View FIGS ); spiracles weakly protruding; second tergite coriaceous, flattened in lateral view; T2 equal to longer than T3; second suture straight.

Colour. Brownish yellow; hind tibia, hind tarsus brownish; antenna apically infuscate; wing subhyaline, with a brownish border (not a patch) apically.

Stantonia xochiquetzalis ( Braet and Tignon, 1998) View in CoL ( figure 12 View FIGS )

Bentonia xochiquetzalis Braet and Tignon, 1998: 55 .

Material examined ( IFML). Peru: Huanco : ”, Cueva de las Pavas, Cerca de Tingo Maria, 11–12 July 1974 (L. Stange and C.Porter); „, idem but: ‘ 10–12 July 1974 ’.

Variation. Some specimens have the malar suture less impressed, the striae of temple less impressed, the propleuron concave ventro-anteriorly (a previously overlooked character; see Braet and Tignon, 1998: figure 2 View FIGS ), surface of propodeum smooth with a long mid-longitudinal carina and few short transverse carina posteriorly, apical quarter of hind tibia darkish infuscate. They differ from original description by having a shorter fore wing apical patch (0.3 times marginal cell), presence of a mid-longitudinal carina in scutellar depression and less pronounced transverse rugae on hind coxae.
