Holotype, ”, length of body 4.4 mm, of fore wing 3.7 mm.

Head. Antenna with 39 segments, 1.37 times longer than fore wing, length of third segment 1.5 times fourth, length of third, fourth and penultimate segments 3, 2 and 1 times their maximal width, respectively, length of apical segment twice its maximal width; maxillary palp 1.43 times height of head; eyes setose and protuberant in frontal view; length of eye in dorsal view 2.4 times temple; temple directly narrowed posteriorly, punctate, shiny; OOL: diameter of ocellus: POL~ 6.0:3.0:2.0; frons smooth medially, shiny ( figure 5 View FIGS ); vertex flattened near stemmaticum, smooth and shiny; face shortened, weakly convex (quasi flat) in lateral view, shiny, sparsely punctate with long setae; clypeus weakly convex and smooth; gena in frontal view very short; length of malar space one times basal width of mandible; malar suture absent; occipital flange rounded and very wide ( figure 53 View FIGS ).

Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.26 times its maximal height; side of pronotum smooth posteriorly near tegula and near fore coxa, antero-medially finely crenulate and remainder smooth and shiny, posteriorly setose; mesopleuron smooth and shiny; precoxal sulcus largely punctate and hardly reaching anterior margin of mesopleuron; metapleuron finely punctate, its ventral margin protruding; metapleural flange absent ( figure 27 View FIGS ); mesoscutum sparsely punctate; scutellar sulcus with small carinae ( figure 19 View FIGS ); notauli punctate; mesopleuron, scutum, metapleuron, propodeum highly setose; scutellum convex, shiny and setose; propodeum medially convex, smooth, shiny and finely punctate.

Wings. Fore wing: r: SR1z3-SR~9:47; 2-SR: r-m~2.0:1.0; second submarginal cell distinctly petiolate ( figure 14 View FIGS ); subbasal cell setose anteriorly; vein cu-a sub interstitial; vein 3-CU1 twice longer than vein CU1b. Hind wing: 2-M coloured; membrane weakly setose basally.

Legs. Hind coxa smooth and shiny; lengths of hind femur, tibia and basitarsus 5, 10 and 7.5 times their widths, respectively; legs setose; tibial spurs 0.53 and 0.3 times basitarsus; hind tibia with three apical teeth.

Metasoma. First tergite 3.5 times longer than apically wide, finely coriaceous, flattened in lateral view ( figure 55 View FIGS ); spiracles weakly protruding ( figure 56 View FIGS ); second tergite shiny, medially finely punctate, smooth elsewhere; T2 1.3 times longer than T3; second suture smooth and curved ( figure 52 View FIGS ); ovipositor sheath 0.7 times fore wing length.

Colour. Black. Tegula and humeral plate yellowish; maxillary palps, mid coxa, mid trochanter and mid trochantellus, hind trochanter, S1–S3 whitish; dorsal stripe on mid and fore femur, frons, vertex and pronotum dorsally brownish; fore legs (except telotarsi), membrane of fore wing slightly infuscate; antenna, scape and pedicellus, stemmaticum, mesopleuron, mesoscutum, scutellum, propodeum, mesopleuron, tergites, ovipositor sheath, mid tibia (one-third distal), mid tarsus, hind coxa (except basally), hind trochantellus, hind femur (except basal quarter), hind tibia except a small basal annulus, hind tibial spurs, fore telotarsus, hind tarsus blackish.

Variation. Upper part of head (frons, vertex and upper part of temples) sometimes brownish to blackish, body sometimes completely blackish except for tegula and whitish yellow hind trochanter, fore and mid coxa. Face sometimes pale yellowish to yellow, basal third of hind coxa and basal fifth of hind femur sometimes yellowish to black. Pronotum sometimes whitish yellow to blackish; S1–S3 are always whitish. Number of antennal segments varies between 37 and 39. Specimens that have a whitish pronotum also have the hind leg with relatively larger white patch.

Remarks. This species is closely related to S. scotti , but it may be distinguished by the shorter T1 and the colour pattern of the mesosoma and mid coxa.
