Galeichthys aguadulce ZBK Meek, 1904: 9, pl. 4. Type locality: Rio Tesechocan at Perez , Veracruz, rio Papaloapam basin , Mexico. Holotype: FMNH 4678 .

Distribution: Papaloapam River basin.

Countries: Mexico.

Habitat: Entirely in fresh waters.

Maximum size: 210 mm TL.

Material examined: USNM 134330 (11 al) (2 es), Guatemala, lake Yzabal embayment about 3 mi. west of El Estor .
