Type: ― SOUTH AFRICA. Cape Prov. [Northern Cape Prov.]: Dist. Namaqualand, succulent Karoo of hummocky flats below hills, c. 700 ft elev., 25 September 1957, Acocks 19585 (holotype LE-00011915!; isotype PRE-0374280-0!) .
