As well as being the first record of a Dolerus species from Crete, this also seems to be the first published record of Dolerus puncticollis from Greece. This is the most widespread Dolerus (Poodolerus) species in the Mediterranean Region, and the only member of the subgenus known in North Africa ( Lacourt 1977).
