Current status. Valid ( Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin 2013).

Remark. In the original description of Colletes caspicus ( Morawitz 1874) , the type specimen (or specimens) came from the Derbent [Dagestan Republic, Russia]. In ZISP, there is one specimen with handwritten label “ Colletes caspicus ♀ F. Morawitz”, by Morawitz, from “Fan” [?Dagestan Republic]. This specimen perfectly corresponds to the Morawitz's description and is hereby designated as the lectotype of Colletes caspicus .
