Colonies massive, encrusting or branching. Maximum recorded size: 30 cm across. The colony surface is covered in skeletal bumps ( ‘hydnophores’) that appear as lemon-squeezers or juicers, with small corallites, 3.0 to 4.0 mm in size, clustered in between. Hydnophores are often brighter than the corallites, with the latter being commonly brown to grey-green (Fig. 95 View Figure 95 ).
