Facultatively epiphytic herbs. Distribution in PILA 1200–1700 m, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest. Global distribution: Nicaragua to Bolivia. Records: A. Fernández 932 (INB), D. Solano 4152 (BM, INB, PMA), G. Herrera 6092 (INB). Uses: ornamental.
