Note: A new species for the Latvian fauna. This species was mistakenly reduced to a synonym of Phyllobius maculatus Tournier, 1880 in Yunakov and Korotyaev (2007) (N.N. Yunakov pers. comm.). Ph. jacobsoni also is known in Lithuania and Poland as Ph. fessus Boheman, 1843 ( Wanat 2005) (N.N. Yunakov pers. comm.).
