General distribution: Europe [EUR].
Note: An infrequent species in Latvia. Phyllobius vespertinus and Ph. pyri are very similar and variable species, therefore difficult to determinate. Taxonomical status of Ph. vespertinus is not clear; some authors considered that specimens belongs to this taxon are aberrant specimens of Ph. pyri (N.N. Yunakov pers. comm.).
