Subgenus Themiste (Lagenopsis) Edmonds View in CoL

Remarks. Edmonds (1980) recognised two subgenera, Themiste (Themiste) and Themiste (Lagenopsis) Edmonds , on the basis of the number and form of the projections on the contractile vessel. Members of the former subgenus have few, long, threadlike tubular extension, whereas those of the latter have numerous short digitiform villi ( Cutler 1994: 142, fig. 36).
