Type material. CHINA, Hebei: Holotype ♂, Mt. Wuling , 800 m, 30.VI.2012, leg. HH Li & SX Wang, slide No. SH 20109.
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to N. schrencki ( Bremer, 1864) in the forewing pattern. It can be distinguished by the forewing with a round black spot near the base between Sc and the anterior margin of the cell; in the male genitalia by the tegumen without a median ridge, the valva fused for basal 2/7, and the transtilla with a spiniform median process. In N. schrencki , the forewing lacks a black spot; the tegumen has a distinct median ridge, the valva is separated basally, and the median process of the transtilla is digitate ( Kozlov 1997d: 287, fig. 182-16, 186-6, 7).
Description. Adult ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19‒22 ). Male wingspan 18.5 mm.
Head: Vertex pale yellow; frons golden yellow. Eye interocular index 0.63. Proboscis dark brown. Labial palpus 1.3 × vertical eye diameter; first and second palpomeres pale yellow, with black hairs; third palpomere dark brown. Antenna 3.6 × length of forewing; scape purplish bronzy except golden yellow on anterior margin; flagellum grayish brown except dark brown in basal 1/5.
Thorax: Mesonotum and tegula golden yellow. Forewing ground color yellow from base to inner fascia, brown with purplish bronzy luster from beyond outer fascia to apex; round black spot near base between Sc and anterior margin of cell; four grayish brown streaks edged with black scales: first streak from base to near middle along costal margin, with golden luster, second streak from basal 2/5 to 4/5 of cell along anterior margin, third streak from base to 4/5 of cell along posterior margin, fourth streak from near base to 1/3 of wing along 1A+2A, forked basally; with four black lines: first line from base to 2/5 of wing along R 1, second line from basal 1/4 to 3/5 of cell, third line from near base to near 2/5 of wing along CuP, fourth line from base to beyond 2/5 along dorsum; fasciae slightly sinuate, inner and outer fasciae silvery gray, edged with black scales anteriorly, medial fascia pale yellow; pale orange yellow fascia from distal 1/4 of costal margin to beyond tornus, with short radiate gray stripes alternated with black scales, with dense black scales anteriorly; fringe brown. Hindwing brown except pale yellow between costal margin and Rs; fringe grayish brown. Foreleg with coxa and femur yellow, tibia yellow ventrally, purplish bronzy dorsally, tarsus yellow; midleg yellow except tibia purplish bronzy dorsally; hindleg yellow. Epiphysis dark brown, at distal 2/5 of tibia, reaching apex of tibia.
Abdomen: Dark brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 42 View FIGURES 39‒43 ). Socius ovoid, length 1.6 × width. Tegumen without median ridge. Uncus triangular, semicircularly concave in middle anteriorly. Valva fused for basal 2/7, rounded at apex, straight on costal margin, obliquely straight on ventral margin; sacculus subtriangular, reaching basal 1/4 of ventral margin. Transtilla with a shallow anterior emargination medially, triangularly produced anterolaterally; median process spiniform, apically reaching posterior 3/7 of tegumen. Vinculum 3.2 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus almost straight, same length as vinculum, with spines from distal 1/3 to 1/7 and a belt of short spines from distal 1/6 to 1/10 ( Fig. 42a View FIGURES 39‒43 ). Juxta 0.66 × length of phallus; lateral arm of arrow head 0.17 × length of arrow head.
Female unknown.
Distribution. China (Hebei).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ravidus and -fera, referring to the short radiate distal stripes of the forewing.
