Material examined. CHINA, Yunnan: 2♂, Mt. Weibao, Weishan , 2200 m, 20.VII.2001, leg. HH Li & XP Wang, slide No. SH 20181 .
Diagnosis. This species is similar to N. chalybeella ( Bremer, 1864) and N. biprocessa sp. nov. in appearance, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnoses of N. chalybeella and N. biprocessa .
Description. Adult ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 13‒18 ). Male wingspan 22.5−24.0 mm.
Head: Vertex pale yellow; frons golden yellow. Eye interocular index 0.51−0.53. Proboscis brown, with pale yellow scales in basal 1/3. Labial palpus 1.2−1.5 × vertical eye diameter; first and second palpomeres pale yellow, with brown hairs; third palpomere dark brown.Antenna 3.3−3.4 × length of forewing; scape golden yellow; flagellum grayish brown except dark brown in basal 1/6.
Thorax: Mesonotum golden yellow except pale yellow laterally; tegula bronzy yellow except purple distally. Forewing ground color yellow, with a black speckle near base between Sc and anterior margin of cell; dorsum with a black speckle basally; three gray streaks: first streak from base to near middle along costal margin, with golden luster, second streak from near base to 2/3 of cell along posterior margin, third streak from near base to near middle of wing along 1A+2A; four black lines: first line from base to middle of wing along R 1, second line from near base to 3/5 of cell along anterior margin, enlarged apically and forming a rectangular spot, with gray scales inside, third line from basal 1/3 to beyond 2/3 of cell, near posterior margin of cell basally, fourth line from basal 1/6 to 2/5 of wing along CuP; inner and outer fasciae silvery gray, with metallic luster, inner fascia almost straight, outer fascia slightly sinuate, medial fascia pale yellow, slightly sinuate, widened anteriorly or posteriorly, edged with brownish yellow bands; distal 1/4 with two black lines along veins from R 3 to R 4 respectively, with radiate brown and yellow stripes of golden luster alternately, edged with black scales: first stripe broadest, between R 5 and M 1, other stripes of same width, along veins from M 2 to CuA 2 respectively; fringe brown. Hindwing grayish brown except light brown between costal margin and Rs; fringe light brown. Foreleg yellow ventrally, purplish bronzy dorsally; midleg yellow except tibia bronzy dorsally; hindleg yellow except tibia bronzy apically. Epiphysis brown, at middle of tibia, reaching apex of tibia.
Abdomen: Dark brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 33‒38 ). Socius elongate ovoid, length 2.8 × width. Tegumen with distinct median ridge. Uncus subtriangular. Valva fused for basal 1/3, broadly rounded at apex, straight on costal margin, obliquely straight on ventral margin; sacculus reaching basal 1/4 of ventral margin. Transtilla with a triangular anterior emargination medially, triangularly produced anterolaterally; median process spiniform, apically reaching posterior 2/5 of tegumen. Vinculum 3.2 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus 1.1 × length of vinculum, with a pair of sclerotized belts from distal 1/3 to distal 1/9 ( Fig. 38a View FIGURES 33‒38 ). Juxta 0.68 × length of phallus; lateral arm 0.17 × length of arrow head.
