Chiracanthium sansibaricum Strand, 1907: 738 ; Lotz, 2007a: 53, figs 101–104.
Diagnosis. C. sansibaricum females are distinguished from those of other Cheiracanthium species by long lateral CO (see Lotz 2007a figs 103–104); males are most similar to C. ludovici Lessert, 1921 , in the thin S-shaped TA, but differ by TA being straighter (see Lotz 2007a: figs 80–81 and Figs 38–39 View FIGURES 31 – 39. 31 – 33 C ).
Description. Females redescribed by Lotz (2007a). Male: (n = 10): TL = 3.42 (3.0–3.8); CL = 1.67 (1.5–1.8); CW = 1.29 (1.2–1.4); OAL = 0.29 (0.25–0.30); OAW = 0.71 (0.65–0.80); CLL = 0.05 (0.05–0.05). Chelicerae: robust with long fangs; fang furrow with five teeth of unequal size, with PMT:RMT = 2:3 ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 31 – 39. 31 – 33 C ). Measurements: AME–AME 0.10; AME–ALE 0.10; AME diameter 0.10; PME–PME 0.15; PME–PLE 0.15; PME diameter 0.10; MOQAW 0.30; MOQPW 0.35; CI (CL/CW) 1.23; LL:CL 6.63; STL 0.95; STW 0.80. Leg measurements: I— 2.6+0.9+3.0+3.0+1.1 = 10.6; II—1.6+0.7+1.6+1.6+0.6 = 6.1; III—1.2+0.5+1.0+1.3+0.5 = 4.5; IV— 1.9+0.7+1.6+2.2+0.6 = 7.0; Palp—0.8+0.3+0.4+0.8 = 2.3. Leg spines: I 0-1p-1p1r, 0- 5 v-0, 2v- 1v-1v; II 0-0-1p, 0- 2 v-0, 2v- 1v-1v; III 0-0-1p1r, 0-0-1p1r, 2v 1r- 1v 1p1r- 3v 1p1r; IV 0-0-1p1r, 0-0-1r, 2v 1p1r- 2v 1p1r- 3v 1p1r. Abdomen: similar to female, but more elongate. Palp ( Figs 38–39 View FIGURES 31 – 39. 31 – 33 C ): cymbium elongate, twice tibia length (excluding RTA), with a straight proximally directed apophysis with a sharp apex; RTA with single sharp apex; TA sclerotized, long, thin, with sharp apex; EM long, almost encircling tegulum, ending at CON apex; CON not sclerotized but distinct.
