Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan) ( Hsiao 1964, Liu 1981, Situ & Zheng 1983, Hua 2000, Votýpka et al. 2010), Bangladesh ( Stål 1870, Maxwell-Lefroy 1909), Cambodia (this paper), India (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, West Bengal) (e.g. Stål 1870, Distant 1903, Breddin 1909, Maxwell-Lefroy 1909, Blöte 1931, Schmidt 1931, Zamal & Chopra 1990, Sen et al. 1994, Abdul Rasheed & Gokuldas 2002, Pemila et al. 2003, Saha & Bal 2007, Stehlík 2007b), Indonesia (Kalimantan, Sumatra) (this paper), Malaysia (Tioman Island) (this paper), Myanmar (Tenasserim) ( Distant 1879, 1903), Laos ( Stehlík 2005), Nepal (Stehlík 2003), Thailand ( Stehlík & Jindra 2003), Vietnam (new record).
Note. The record from Assam, North Khási Hills by Distant (1903) refers to Meghalaya. The record from Indonesia (Sumatra) by Breddin (1901) was based on misidentification of I. varians varians (see Breddin 1909). Stehlík & Jindra (2003, with ‘?’), and Stehlík (2005) listed the species also from Indonesia (Sumatra) without providing any exact records; these records are confirmed here. From Hainan it was recorded only by Hua (2000) without exact locality; here we provide a first exact locality.
