Type:— Jacobaea vulgaris Gaertner (1791: 445) [lectotype designated by Pelser et al. (2006)].
= Senecio ser. Racemuliferae Schischkin (1961: 735) .
Type:— Senecio racemulifer Pavlov (1950: 21) [= Jacobaea racemulifera (Pavlov) C. Ren & Q.E. Yang ].
Notes:— Senecio ser. Racemuliferae includes a single species, i.e. S. racemulifer (= Jacobaea racemulifera ). No infrageneric division has been previously made in the genus Jacobaea , so at this stage it seems more reasonable to directly reduce S. ser. Racemuliferae to the synonymy of Jacobaea than to transfer it to the genus as a series or section to avoid making any new combination.
