Ventral retrorse spurs of subcapitulum present, triangular. Dorsum. Dorsal shields without ornamentation. Propodonotal shield about 80 long. Setae se 95–100 long, 3 times longer than si, not reaching level of seta d2 bases. Hysteronotal shield about 135 long, bearing most hysteronotal setae, excluding ps1. Venter. Setae 1a situated distinctly far from posterior ends of apodemes Ia. Epigynum about 40 wide. Opisthogastric shield monotonously sclerotized, about 55 long and 80 wide. Setae c3 thickened spur-like. Setae 1a, 3a, 4a, and 4b filiform. Setae ps3 1.5 times longer than ps2, both setal pairs thickened spur-like. Setae h3 thickened, spur-like. Legs. Setae d I slightly shorter or subequal to solenidion ω 3 I. Tibiae I and II without ventro-antiaxial spur, accessorial spur almost not developed. Legs III about 85 long. Tarsi III with 1 hook (ventro-paraxial). Legs IV about 75 long, only 1.1 times shorter than legs III. Setae sR III almost reaching respective tibiae. Tarsi IV twice as long as respective tibiae. Lengths of setae: c2 30–33, d2, e1, e2, h1, and ps1 —all 17–20, cp about 70, c3 33–35, d1 27–30, h2 125–135, h3 43–47, ps2 30–33, ps3 45–49, 1a, g, and 4b —all 15–19, 3a 55–60, 4a 20–23, ω 1 I and ω 1 II about 23, ω 3 I about 25, φI and II about 45, φIII about 40, φIV 3, σ 1 I 37–40, σII 31–34, and σIII 17.

MALE (8 paratypes). Body 235–250 long and 170–180 wide. Gnathosoma . Ventral retrorse spurs of subcapitulum present, triangular. Dorsum. Dorsal shields without ornamentation. Propodonotal shield 50–55 long. Setae se 65–70 long, 3–4 times longer than si, not reaching level of seta d2 bases. Hysteronotal shield 115–130 long. Venter. Seta c3 narrowly lanceolate. Diameter of adanal suckers about 12. Legs. Legs III about 120 long. Legs IV about 45 long. TRITONYMPH (2 paratypes). Idiosoma 215–225 long and 160–165 wide. Gnathosoma . Ventral retrorse spurs of subcapitulum present, triangular. Dorsum. Dorsal shields without ornamentation, distinctly separated from each other. Setae se and si located on propodonotal shield. Hysteronotal shield bearing setae c1 and d2. Setae c3 narrow lanceolate, ps3, ps2, and h3 —all spine-like. Venter. Coxal fields II with distinctly developed external retrorse spur. Legs. Legs I–III as in female. Legs IV 3-segmented, proximal segment (? tibia) with seta kT and solenidion φ.

Type material examined. Seven female, 8 male, and 2 tritonymph paratypes ( QMNH) from Phascogale tapoatafa , AUSTRALIA: Queensland, Moreton Bay Region, Lacey Ck near Dayboro, 11 December 1986, coll. R. McKay and R. Domrow. Holotype deposition. Holotype female (not examined) is deposited in QMN. Host range and distribution. This species is known only from the type host, Phascogale tapoatafa from Australia (Queensland) ( Domrow 1988).
