Die Gattung Synotoma umfaßt nur 1 Art, die früher meist mit Phyteuma vereinigt wurde. Sie unterscheidet sich aber sowohl morphologisch wie zytologisch weitgehend von Phyteuma , und eine Abtrennung ist gerechtfertigt. Die Gattungsmerkmale sind in der Artdiagnose enthalten.
