Face slightly protruding antero-ventrally with weakly demarcated tubercle and slightly concave below antennae. Head 2.4–2.5 times wider than face just below the antennae; length of eye contiguity 0.48–0.53 times as long as length of frons; angle of eyes at eye contiguity 105–125o. Mouth edge, hypostomal bridge and a squarish macula around frontal prominence black; posterior part of genae often yellow. Vertical triangle and dorsal surface of head capsule yellow; ocellar triangle black. Frontal prominence 4.3–5.1 times longer than wide; relative length of pedicel is as 1.0–1.1: 1: 0.92–1.0. Antennae and frontal prominence brown-yellow coloured; arista white pilose. Thorax. Scutum black with yellow maculae on postpronotum and notopleuron; a yellow vitta from postalar callus to suture at both sides; scutum with white pollinose maculae medially from the transverse suture and two vague white-grey vittae antero-medially. Pleuron black with three yellow maculae, one each on posterior 1/2–3/5 of posterior anepisternum and on dorsal 1/4–1/3 of katepisternum and on antero-ventral part of anterior anepimeron. Metasternum with short pile and a low, rounded elevation medially on antero-ventral part. Scutellum entirely yellow, sometimes posterior margin narrowly black. Legs. Coxae black; trochanter yellow; apical 1/6–1/4 of femora black; apico-medial 1/2–1/3 of tibia black; pro- and mesotarsus brown-yellow to black; metatarsus black. Clear patch of black setulae present on antero-basal part of pro- and mesofemur and on medial part of metatrochanter. Mesotrochanter straight dorsally; mesofemur with short, little rugged and flattened area anterobasally; metatrochanter with weak sulcus and narrow rim laterally ( Fig. 69 View FIGURES 64 – 70 ); metatibia without triangular appendix on apico-ventral part; metafemur elongate and slightly curved ( Fig. 91 View FIGURES 90 – 93 ). Wing. Hyaline except for anterior 1/2 and along spurious vein and along cross-vein bm-cu; sometimes even cells c and cs hyaline. Loop in vein R4+5 deep with short appendix into cell r4+5; hyaline. Cross-vein r-m slightly curved. Membrane covered in microtrichia, except on antero-basal part of cell dm; anterior part of cell bm narrowly bare; cell br posterior of vena spuria bare. Alula relatively broad, 2.6–3.0 times longer than wide.
Abdomen. Black and yellow coloured. Length of tergite I: II: III: IV is as 1: 1.4–1.5: 1.5–1.6: 1.8–2.0. Width of yellow fascia medially: length of tergite of respectively tergite II, III and IV as 1: 2.0–2.1, 1: 2.8–3.1 and 1: 1.9– 2.1. Tergite II wider than long, anterior part most narrow; length of tergite II: width of tergite II at respectively anterior: posterior as 1: 1.1–1.3: 1.3–1.5. Tergite I with large triangular yellow maculae on antero-lateral corner, broadly separated medially; fascia on tergite II concave medially and gradually but strongly narrowed towards lateral margin; fascia on tergites III and IV straight, slightly narrowed towards lateral margin and narrowly reaching the lateral margin. Tergite IV weakly emarginated. Tergite I with very low medial elevation; tergites III and IV without longitudinal elevation; with vague grey-white pollinosity medio-laterally. Sternites I–III with posterior yellow fascia. Genitalia. Epandrium with narrow ventral rim ( Figs 94, 96 View FIGURES 94 – 97 ); in dorsal view, cerci rounded triangular shaped, with apico-medial sharp pointed projection, apex rounded ( Fig. 96 View FIGURES 94 – 97 ), with pile about 1/4 as long as width of cerci; surstylus bi-lobed, dorsal lobe elongate baso-medially narrowed, ventral lobe very narrowly circular with membranous basal part ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 94 – 97 ); surstylar apodeme semi-circular shaped ( Fig. 97 View FIGURES 94 – 97 ); hypandrium ( Figs 94, 95 View FIGURES 94 – 97 ) with broad base and narrower apex, in ventral view medio-laterally with narrow rounded projections; with long and elongated lingula with medio-ventrally a hardly sclerotized irregular shaped flange, ending mediodorsally in a short pointed projection, apico-laterally with two short threadlike appendages; superior lobe large semi-circular shaped and articulating with hypandrium, with two separate dorsal ctenidia, the dorsal one with about 4 short spines and the more ventral one with about 7 spines becoming longer and stronger baso-ventrally; aedeagus with baso-ventral elongated and pointed projection, medial projection long threadlike, dorsal projection broadly elongate with weak sclerotized apico-ventral flange.
