This   GoogleMaps species is widely distributed across eastern North America   GoogleMaps ( DeWalt et al. 2010) and has been reported from ravine streams in eastern Illinois   GoogleMaps ( DeWalt 2002) and Trout Park   GoogleMaps near Elgin   GoogleMaps , in Kane County of northern Illinois   GoogleMaps ( Frison 1935). It   GoogleMaps has since been extirpated from the latter location ( DeWalt et al. 2005). Grubbs (2004) reported this species from southern Indiana   GoogleMaps near the Ohio River in Harrison County   GoogleMaps , Indiana.

We have recently collected this species from several ravine streams in central Indiana. The   GoogleMaps range of this species in Indiana   GoogleMaps is probably broader, but its late summer to autumn emergence has likely precluded a more comprehensive understanding of its statewide distribution.
