Tolpia paraunguis Fibiger, 2007 , Zootaxa, 2583: 79–80 (TL: Thailand, Ban Nam Lee Pattana [Holotype: coll. HNHM]).

Material examined. 1 male, Prov. Yunnan, Jiangcheng, 15–17.ix.2008 (H.L. Han, E. Liu).

Diagnosis. ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Wingspan 13 mm. Robust species, body and forewing brown-ochre; ante- and postmedial lines brown, distinct only in costal margin of forewing; terminal line indicated by black dots; reniform spot indistinct, light ochre. Hindwing dark brown. Hind legs with prominent long scent brush. In male genitalia ( Figs. 8 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ), tegumen extremely long, 3x longer than vinculum, vinculum and saccus very short; juxta higher than wide; left side of anellus ventrally fused with juxta; fultura superior fused with tegumen, small, triangular shaped; pollex short, triangular with hair-like setae; ampulla sclerotised, curved, hook shaped; sacculus sclerotised, left one long triangular, setose at top; right one somewhat larger; costa on left valva with short triangle extension at mid; cucullus golf club shaped, with setae, aedeagus sclerotised, curved at middle part; coecum slightly pointed.

Distribution. China (new record), Thailand.

Note. The genus Tolpia Walker, 1863 is represented in China by two species: T. hainanensis ( China, Hainan: Yinggeling) and Tolpia paraunguis . The tribe Micronoctuini of the subfamily Hypenodinae (Erebidae) comprises 34 species in China with acount of four species described by Fibiger (2011) ( Parens melli Fibiger, 2011 , P. chekiangi Fibiger, 2011 , Paradoxica proxima Fibiger, 2011 , P. asymmetrica Fibiger, 2011 ) and two currect records.
