Type species. Empoasca okubella Matsumura, 1931 , by original designation
Remarks. The subgenus is primarily characterized by its pygofer lobe having additional rigid microsetae at the ventral margin; pygofer ventral appendage short, subgenital plate apex strongly tapered, group B setae continuous from near base to apex, group A not differentiated, aedeagal shaft long relative to preatrium, plate apex fuscous ( Dworakowska, 1982; Southern, 1982). Empoasca (Okubasca) previously included only the type species, E. okubella Matsumura , from Japan.
Distribution. China (Yunnan and Zhejiang Provinces), Japan.
