( Figs 6–11 View FIGURES 6 – 11 )
Dicondylus dubius Olmi, 1984: 1399 ; 1990: 789; 1991: 329.
Gonatopus dubius ( Olmi): Olmi & Villemant 2009 : 696.
Material examined. Type. Holotype, ♀: FIJI: Viti Levu Island, Nandarivatu ( BPBM). Other material. FIJI: Vanua Levu Island, Trans-insular Road, above summit, 500–550 m, 6–9.x.1979, 1♂ ( AMNH).
Redescription. FEMALE. Apterous; length 5.3 mm. Testaceous-reddish, except antennal segments 5–9 brown, petiole black and metasoma brown. Antenna clavate. Head ( Figs 6–7 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ) excavated, dull, granulated; occipital carina absent. Palpal formula 4/2. Pronotum ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ) dull, sculptured by numerous irregular keels, crossed by very slight transverse impression. Scutum shiny, sculptured by many longitudinal striae, without lateral pointed apophyses. Metanotum reticulate rugose, not hollow behind scutellum, with sides protruding; lateral protrusions pointed ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ). Meso-metapleural suture obsolete. Metathorax + propodeum reticulate rugose. Segment 1 of protarsus longer than segment 4 (26:21). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ) with one large subapical tooth and one row of seven lamellae. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ) with two rows of about 23 lamellae; distal apex with about 18 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
MALE (putative). Fully winged; length 2.9 mm. Head black, except mandible testaceous; antenna brown, except segments 1–2 testaceous; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs yellow. Antenna filiform, with segment 3 approximately four times as long as broad (12:3); antennal segments in following proportions: 6:5:12:11:10:10:9:9:8:10. Head dull, granulated and punctate; frontal line absent; occipital carina incomplete, only shortly present behind posterior ocelli; POL = 7; OL = 2; OOL = 3.5; temple distinct. Palpal formula 4/2. Scutum dull, granulated. Notauli complete, posteriorly joint. Scutellum and metanotum shiny, finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Propodeum dull, reticulate rugose, without transverse or longitudinal keels; areolae of dorsal surface smaller than those of posterior surface. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein longer than proximal part (25:12); marginal cell open. Dorsal process of paramere ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 6 – 11 ) long and slender, with distal extremity pointed. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
Hosts. Unknown.
Distribution. Fiji.
Remarks. The description of the male is based on the above specimen collected in Vanua Levu Island. However, it is impossible to know if this male is that of G. dubius or that of G. k i ef f e r i (Perkins): both species are in fact present in the Fiji Islands. It is also possible, but less probable, that the above male belongs to a third unknown species.
