Remarks.
Since this species was originally described on the basis of a single specimen, Rondon and Breuning (1970) suggested that it may have represented a natural hybrid between the more common and widely distributed Eutaenia trifasciella (White, 1850) and E. corbetti Gahan, 1893. It differs from the closely related E. trifasciella from Hong Kong mainly by having the apical four antennomeres with basal parts lightly testaceous rather than completely black and the black marking on pronotum extending to both anterior and posterior margins, instead of forming only a middle transverse black stripe. In Macau, adults are active only in late spring and range in total length 20.5-23 mm and 6-7 mm in maximum width. They are strictly diurnal and feed on the bark of coastal shrubs (RP & LC pers. obs.).
